I haven't taken many belly photos this pregnancy, but here is one from yesterday (33 weeks, 1 day). HUGE!! :) I feel like my belly is bigger this time than it was with Noah, and I'm definitely having more Braxton-Hicks contractions and general discomfort. The record-shattering number of 100-plus-degree days hasn't helped things, either, nor has chasing after a toddler who has very suddenly become very much a two-year-old. Basically I'm torn between feeling SO READY for Bennett to be here and OHMYGOSH not ready at all!Thursday, August 25, 2011
Preparing for Bennett
I had another doctor's appointment last week at 32.5 weeks, and all is well with Baby Bennett. My doctor mentioned that his inclination is to believe that we are looking at another c-section because Bennett has obviously inherited his brother's large head! This is significant to us because if that's the case, he will schedule the c-section for 39 weeks -- as in, five and a half weeks from now. Oh.my.goodness. That's just around the corner!! It is amazing how much more relaxed (lazy?) we have been in preparation for this second child. Until last weekend we had done very little in the way of decorating his room or even mentally preparing for this huge life change. Since Brian and I have both realized how quickly the next few weeks are going to slip past us, we've kicked it into high gear on getting ready. We've got Bennett's room cleared out and primed, and Brian is planning to paint this weekend. Labor Day weekend will definitely be labor-intensive for him (and hopefully free from labor of at least the baby variety for me!) as we put together furniture and start getting clothes and baby toys down from the attic. So, so much to do.
