Hello third trimester! In the homestretch...

First of all, apologies for a long blog absence and for the less-than-stellar quality of ultrasound photo in this post (Noah was not cooperating for the ultrasound tech today)! Here's a quick update of where we are and what's coming next for us...

We had our 28 week/7 month appointment today, complete with ultrasound and gestational diabetes testing. Noah continues to measure large for his gestational age, still about a week and a half ahead of where we are at this point. He already weighs three pounds and is in the 80th percentile of size. He still has extremely big feet and, apparently, an ENORMOUS head! His head measured in the 95th percentile, at which point the ultrasound tech said, "Wow... make sure you get that epidural!" It looks like he might just be a big boy.

Everything else looked perfect. He has turned head-down now, and my doctor said he should stay that way for the duration of the pregnancy. And it looks like we might have a little thumbsucker -- the entire time we watched him on the ultrasound, he was trying (and failing) to get his hand into his mouth. In fact, as you can see in the picture, one or both of his arms were up near his face the entire time.
(For clarity, tilt your head to the right... you can see his eye sockets, his mouth, his pointed chin, and his left arm crossed over his body and resting on his right cheek.)

The nursery is coming along nicely; Brian has worked really hard and done a fantastic job. He hopes to finish painting the trimwork this weekend and begin putting together the furniture that's been sitting in our living room for a few months now. My first baby shower is this Saturday, so I will be completely out of his hair (at least before bringing home more things to put in Noah's room!).

We start doctor's visits every two weeks for the next few months, which I think will make time go even more quickly. Less than three months to go!
