Baby Bennett's Progress

We had an ultrasound about a week and a half ago (at 28 weeks) to check on how Baby Bennett is growing.  The good news is that everything looks great!  He is head-down and very active and surprisingly measuring much smaller than Noah did -- in the 40th percentile versus the 80th percentile for in utero size.  This is good news because it would be really nice to avoid another c-section and the lifting restrictions that are imposed afterward.  The one red flag to this plan -- although my doctor calls it a "question mark" rather than a red flag -- is that yet again, it looks like we will have a baby with a big head.  While his body and other measurements are right on track for his gestational age, his head circumference is in the 92nd percentile.  Yikes!  That is very similar to Noah's, which was ultimately the reason for delivering him by c-section.  We will be doing another ultrasound at the end of this month to see if things have evened out a bit, then my doctor will evaluate size and my body's progress in September before he makes a recommendation.  Of course our goal is healthy mom, healthy baby, so I'm not opposed to scheduling a c-section at 39 weeks if need be.  And as HOT as it is right now, I might be ready to be done a week early when the time comes!  This pregnancy has been more uncomfortable than Noah's, simply because I'm chasing after a toddler and spending more time outside in the ridiculous heat.

A few more details from the ultrasound:  Bennett has eyelashes already!  I don't think Noah had real eyelashes until he was a few months old, so this is exciting for us.  He also has hair -- not as much as Noah did, but enough to be seen floating in the amiotic fluid.  He had his hands AND his feet up by his face and we could see him "tasting" them with his mouth.  The ultrasound technician suggested jokingly that he might be a toe sucker instead of a thumb sucker.  I guess we will find out in two short months!  Can't believe it!!!
