A Few "Firsts"

Several weeks ago, Noah had several "firsts" that I wanted to make sure and record here (since we've already established that I'm crummy at keeping a baby book!).  On July 14th, we went to the Barnum and Bailey circus in Houston -- WOW!  It was a little overwhelming!  I went with my family two years ago when I was very, very pregnant with Noah.  Quite a different experience with your own child to tend to!  He really enjoyed all the sights and sounds, but it was a long show and a lot of confined space for a little guy.  And a lot of walking for a pregnant lady!  I didn't get any really great pictures to post because the lights were already being dimmed when we got to our seats.  Oh well.

Two days later we took Noah to "his" first movie, Winnie the Pooh.  I put the quotation marks in because technically he has been to the movies before:  we took him to The Blind Side with us when he was four months old.  But this was the first movie that we specifically thought he would be interested in seeing.  It was a success!  He didn't sit down and watch the entire thing from beginning to end, but it kept his interest and he loved the songs and didn't bother too many people around us :).  Not to mention, the movie was only 63 minutes long, which is great for an audience of toddlers!

Another "first" worth mentioning... Noah can now spell his name all by himself.  He is riveted by all the letters in the world around us and likes to sing bits and pieces of the ABC song.  When he is drawing by himself, he will often say, "N-O-A-H, Noah!"  When we are drawing with him, he always wants us to write his name over and over again.  We're still working on some lower case letters, but he can identify every capital letter except L (which he has trouble saying) and V (which he gets confused with Y).

This is probably a post interesting only to a child's parents, but if it doesn't get noted here, it doesn't get written down anywhere!  Poor Bennett doesn't stand a chance of a decent baby book!
