(Remember, some of these posts are more for my own recollection than anything else, so apologies if any of them get dull to anyone else!)
The nice thing about having a toddler is that we have set routines on certain things, like going to bed at night. Noah's bedtime routine starts with a bath (given by Daddy since it's gotten way to uncomfortable for me!), then jammies, vitamins and teeth brushing. We have to gather up Noah's A-team of stuffed animals -- anywhere from one to three stuffed puppies, a lovey, and occasionally a stray turtle or elephant -- and all three of us sit together on the couch to watch part of a movie. We've been through lots of Baby Einstein videos, a LONG run of the Polar Express, Toy Story, and most recently, Finding Nemo. After about 15 minutes or so, we turn off the movie and say a prayer together, then Brian carries Noah to his bedroom where we do goodnight hugs and kisses (or, as Noah says, "Hug-Kiss"). Sometimes we hear him talking over the monitor for 20 or 30 minutes -- we really need a video monitor to see exactly what's going on in there! Right before Brian and I go to bed for the night, we always peek in on him to make sure he's okay and to see what kind of position he's gotten himself into. Sometimes he throws everything out of the crib... sometimes he gathers every animal close to himself. It's always something new.
